Your first visit will involve: forms to be filled in, a detailed history being taken and consent to be obtained prior to Stacey beginning any treatment.
Depending upon the type of pain, you might get a full neurological, myotomal and reflex exam. You might be given a request for x-rays.
It is normal for Stacey to treat on the first visit unless there are serious contraindications to not treat.
First visits typically last 30 minutes.
After your first visit, a follow up message is sent 72 hours or the next working day, to check on how your body has responded.
Subsequent visits are only booked if CLINICALLY INDICATED!
Stacey understands that every case is different, for some, a review is indicated the following week, others in a month, some patients may never need to come back in again until they feel they need a check up. It is always assessed on an individuals need.
Review visits last 15 minutes.
If it has been a while (more than 12 months) or if you have a new significant injury, you are encouraged to book in for a new patient visit.
This is not currently offered at Smiles Chiropractic however Stacey has several amazing massage therapists that she works in conjunction with.
Stacey is a hands on therapist and does not work via telehealth.
Stacey believes that we are all in charge of our own recoveries. Patients must take responsibility for the frequency of when appointments are scheduled. Often patients will be given "take home advice" in the form of stretches, exercises and strengthening work. Stacey also can show you taping techniques with "Rock Tape" if these are needed.
Stacey is proud to offer paediatric chiropractic care to help children maintain optimal health and wellness. Her gentle, non-invasive treatments can help restore and rebalance movement. Stacey is also a wealth of knowledge with children, birthing 5 children of her own and having 8 children with a blended family. Her youngest is only 2 years old.
Stacey is one of the few practitioners that are trained on performing Temporal Mandibular (TMJ) adjustments from inside your mouth. As Stacey spent the COVID years in Victoria, she observed a lot of TMJ dysfunction, grinding of teeth, clicking jaws, all as a consequence of wearing face masks. She has had a lot of practice in releasing jaw pain which can cause significant headaches, tinnitus, blocked ears.
Stacey has a HICAPS private health claiming machine from the NAB, which can also process EFTPOS.
Stacey accepts CASH as well.
Stacey accepts NDIS and Medicare Team Care Arrangements.
Stacey can accept DVA claims if sent through from a GP.
